Dear Fellow Learners,
Welcome to the Center for University Studies and Programs
(CUSP), which organizes and supports the academic experience of first-year and
pre-major students at UW Bothell.
The curriculum is centered on the Discovery Core, a sequence of courses that deepens our sense of ourselves and our vocations as we learn how different forms of knowledge impact our communities, both local and global.
We will work, in the classroom and beyond, on engagement with different communities in the region, critical and creative inquiry, quantitative literacy, and communication skills. We will learn the arts of self-reflection and learn about biology and business, mathematics and literature, psychology and economics, computer science and the arts, as well as about how these topics interact with one another in an interdisciplinary fashion.
We all very much look forward to working with you.
Welcome to the University of Washington Bothell!
Best,
Gray

We are located in UW2 030, just around the corner from The Commons and Common Grounds Cafe. The Academic Resource Center -which offers writing and quantitative skills support- conveniently shares the same space. The large bright room offers a wall of windows, laptops for student use, outlets for your own computer in a WiFi environment, study clusters, and whiteboards for group work. There is a conference room for larger study groups or club meetings and we are always finding new ways to use the space as an exhibit area for student projects and artwork. Come see us!
