Greetings,
The University of Washington Bothell is celebrating 20 years of operations and I invite you to share in our joy!
UW Bothell is your regional leader in higher education. We combine the benefits of a small campus with the resources and prestige of a world-renowned university. Our curriculum continues to emphasize close student-faculty interaction, collaboration among students, and hands-on learning. Outstanding regional connections present our students with unique opportunities for projects, internships and research with leading businesses and organizations. At UW Bothell, students earn an acclaimed University of Washington degree while building solid foundations of relevant knowledge, practical skills and professional preparation.
Best of all, our students are local and stay local. Over 80% of our graduates remain in the area post-graduation, working in our schools and hospitals, developing businesses and leading in industry, all of which directly contributes to our local economy and enriches our community.
In our 20 year history we have had the pleasure of graduating over 8,000 students and demand continues to grow. In response, we lead in the development of new academic offerings, continuously creating innovative programs to meet the changing needs of our students.
As an example, we are in the process of expanding our science, technology, engineering and mathematics programs (defined by the state as high growth fields). This year we will launch a new Master of Science in Computing and Software Systems and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with additional programs under development. Plus, we will launch a Leadership Master of Business Administration (a high demand degree) at our newly opened UW Bothell Eastside Leadership Center in Bellevue.
With all of our growth and development, our campus is abuzz. If you haven't been to visit in a while, now is the time. I invite you to share in our celebration, relish in our accomplishments, and help us plan for the future.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to 20 more years of great accomplishments and service as your regional leader in higher education.
Kind regards,
Kenyon S. Chan
Chancellor
